Career History
VISUAL ARTS
I incorporate printmaking techniques, acrylics, inks, blind drawing and dry media in my work. I have exhibited extensively in Scotland and also in the north of England, London and Italy. These exhibitions have included several solo shows. Numerous visual art and illustration commissions for private, public and commercial clients have followed. My artwork is held in private collections all over the world, from the USA to Thailand.
EVENT PLANNING
Over the past few years, I have curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions with as many as 60 artists. I have assisted with exhibition installation including events at the Glasgow Art Club, The Lighthouse, Southside Fringe and Redlees Studios London. I acted as co-director of social enterprise Art On Scotland until 2016 planning art and design markets in Glasgow city centre.
COMMUNITY ARTS
This aspect of my working life has provided the opportunity to work with community groups, schools, social enterprises and charities. I have facilitated workshops as part of larger projects for employers such as the NHS and East Ayrshire Council. Other projects have taken place in community gardens and public events. I have also organised my own courses and classes independently.
